CITIZENS PROTECTION ALLIANCE

Recognizing the importance of community involvement in policing, and police involvement in the community, the Citizens Protection Alliance was founded in 1991 in response to the stabbing of an 89 year old Santa Monica woman by a transient who was previously convicted of assault with intent to commit great bodily harm. The Citizens Protection Alliance is a non-profit, IRS tax exempt educational organization under the umbrella of the American Association of Women.

Since 1992, the Citizens Protection Alliance has sponsored the Full Disclosure™ cable television program to provide a platform for law enforcement and civilians to communicate ideas and coordinate positive public policies to safeguard our communities. Over the years, the program has featured all the LA Police Chiefs from Ed Davis to William Bratton and most of the Police Commission Presidents from Jesse Brewer to David Cunningham III, and LA Sheriffs Block and Baca, plus many law enforcement officials under their authority.

In 2007 the CPA organized their first Law Enforcement Training Conference on "Gangs Drugs & Immigration" in conjunction with the Co-sponsors, Sheriff Leroy Baca Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Sheriff Mike Carona, Orange County Sheriff''s Department.
